I travelled on board The Shakespeare Express last Sunday 6th September when the train was hauled by Pitchford Hall. The loco performance was wonderful as confirmed by Mike Notley when I spoke to him. I may be a bit biased though as I spent the whole of the previous day cleaning and prepping the loco...

If you'd like to take a look at my photos you should get a sense of what the Shakespeares are all about.

I must also add that while on board, the train manager announced that for 2010 the trains MAY be departing from the Moor Street terminus platforms. Presumably the plans to reconnect the tracks are about to become a reality. So this coming weekend MAY be the last time that a Shakespeare Express passes through the Snow Hill tunnel.

Does anybody have any more info on these plans?

5043 running early on the final train of the SE 2009 season. Caught me by surprise being five minutes up so a few hasty shots fired off not knowing what the camera was set on.
    Roll on 2010

I'd hazard a guess at Widney Manor station footbridge.

Spot on it was Widney Manor footbridge with a few unwanted items like lamp standards removed.

Actually was Paint Shop Pro X2 that was used in the pic. I have got Photoshop 5 but I find it too memory hungry and slow, and I dont have a slow processor, also 4Gb Ram installed.
So its always PSP X2 for me.
