I have to admit it did seem to be 'steadily does it' between Doncaster and York on the last two saturdays, and 'Tornado' has had quite a punishing schedule since it came out the engine shed doors at the end of Junuary. Is it begining to take it's toll?

Absolutly no truth in this rumour, according to my contact on the A1 team who I have just spoken to, Tornado is fit and well and ready to go.

Are there any confirmed timings for Sat and Sun? nothing as yet on UKsteam and approx timings on A1 website.

I hope the weather picks up a bit as I want to try Blea Moor but if today is anything to go by then you won't even see the train leaving Ribblehead!

I am on the train on Sun 4th and the timings sent with tickets indicate:

    Hellifield dep 11.00 - Carlisle arr 13.58
    Carlisle dep 16.50 - Hellifield 19.40

I too hope that UK Steam will have more detail for us soon.

Further info from my contact seems to refute "Steadily does it", with 500 tonnes on, Tornado averaged over 65mph from Grantham to York and 75mph was held for many a mile both weekends.

I see that uksteaminfo now has next weekends tour returning via shap, with Tornado on until Preston. Is this confirmed and if so does anyone know where/ when/ via Tornado will leave Preston once the skip takes over??

There's a post in the thread about 6233's tour the same day confirming the change of route and steam as far as Preston, together with some departure and arrival times. HTH
