Can't help with the times I'm afraid but I can tell you that they are currently
carrying the identities of 44996 and 62034 and are wonderfully grubby.

I don't have the times to hand, but have seen them and they looked close to the usual. Rough times I recall were around 8.30am off the Fort, Crianlarich depart around 12pm after water, more water at Craigendoran, Carstairs around 6pm, then dark.

62034 aka 62005 deputised for the Black 5 on today's Jacobite while
Mr. Riley's engine received some attention. Now carrying 45407 numbers once more
    and looking a little cleaner.

Lovely stuff, Jonathan. I just wish you'd been taking video at Beinn Dorain. The sound must have been wonderful.

My friend Martyn has taken a video of it on his camera, it's not a professional hi-tech video camera like yours....in fact, it's a Fuji Finepix like my own Digital Still Camera, but however, he will be uploading it to youtube soon so hopefully the sound quality will be good enough to please!

If not, I have an okayish sound recording of it on my phone ;)

Great shots of the engines with Beinn Dorain in the background. It isn't often that the steam engines are just an insignificant part of the landscape.

    Great shots, thank you.

    Many thanks Jonathon,

I was hoping someone would 'shoot' the pair coming back having been behind the K1 on the Jacobite last month and pulled by 45407 to Scarborough in July. You captured the colours and majestic scenery so well. Cant wait for Sunday and the two Black Fives trip.

    Alan.

as always you as excelled and found sun where others didn't

On this occasion, it was a mad dash on the first unit south to chase the sun. I'd camped overnight on one of the mounds at Corrour, the sun rose and illuminated the landscape for about 10 minutes before rising into a veil of high cloud, so I headed south to Rannoch to get clear of the thicker cloud. The rest of the day was reasonably sunny, but there was a general haze and strips of high cloud would occasionally blot out the sun. I caught the lunchtime train south and overtook the steam at Craigendoran, so I thought the Leven Viaduct was worth a go. A fine end to another Jacobite season. Roll on next year :)
