    Hello All,
Some news to interest the railway enthusiast/photographer.

D1015 Western Champion is to work from Quidhampton to Tavy Junction, Plymouth, with fifteen China Clay tanks this Wednesday afternoon/Evening, as far as I'm aware it is via Westbury.
On Thursday D1015 will continue with the tanks to Burngullow in Cornwall and then return Light Diesel to DBS Eastleigh. What a great chance to get the cameras out for some shots of a super hydraulic in a scenic part of the country in the autumn.

    Best regards SteamHawk216.

Outline timings confirmed by a post on Wessex Rail Gen
Nothing loaded to TSDB this afternoon, so I suspect all timings will be produced as VSTP timings.

    Regards, Neil

Being a pedant, my first post said "it was on rail gen before I got the request!!!" which was entirely true and also not the way things should work. However if I hadn't had the request by the time I posted I would have said "it was on rail gen but I haven't had a request"

If you see what I mean, like..........

    ;-)

    "Champion Freight Tour"

    D1015 departed Westbury at 17.36.
Hope there's some cameras out in this superb light. I shall get some shots of her hauling onto Brunel's Royal Albert Bridge tomorrow morning and running back "light" later in the day. Looking forward to seeing Western Champion again.

    Best regards SteamHawk216.

Western Champion arrived at Quidhampton on time this afternoon. When it departed with the 15 bogie tanks it ran to Salisbury to run round. Word has it that Network Rail had forgotten that the crossover points had been removed. How true that is I really don't know. The train passed Norton Bavant approx 30 late at 16:45 and approx 20 late at Frome.
Today really was a blast into the past. Who could believe that in 2009 we can still see a Western class loco hauling a genuine freight train on the main line ....and in superb autumnal sunlight. Fantastic. <BJ>

Saw it rumble through chandlers ford at about 2:30. Though it would just be a 67 when heard something coming along, but then that appeared and came past and I was pleasantly surprised!

Makes you laugh it almost seems better than the 66 in terms of acceleration! Certainly looks and sounds thousands of times better, why do DB want 37s!? haha
