Having just read through some very irrelevent treads and comments on the last two pages form varous parties can I please report the following .
35028s bogie was being returned to its piviot at 3pm yesterday afternoon. I didnt hang around to see what happend after but it will be lit up Thursday and warmed through I expect .
Its trip back to Stewarts Lane isnt untill late Friday night (as it came in).
So if any test running takes place it will only probably be light engine. That particular component isnt reliant on having a string of coaches behind.
But I suppose if the MNLPS want to have a little drive or not.. We shall see.

Thanks for the info. Much appreciated after some of the pointless posts before you. Another thread involving the MHR which descended into arguments! And they weren't even about the MHR.

35028 this morning (Thursday) Sat dead in the down platform at Ropley with 33053 60019 30850 .Play and Play with 9f working round them on loop. Presume it will be lit and warmed up for its run back Friday night later on .
Light engine running will be enough to check out if bogie is ok on bearings etc.

According to the MHR website update: 15/10/09, on the work carried out and completed. 35028 has changed identities and is now 35029 Ellerman Lines! Lets hope not.

Leaving some time after 5pm, 16/10/09 so i believe.

LOL - I hope they mean 35028 and not 35029??? Pretty sure the new webmaster has been drinking on the RAT!! (Only joking)

So what is the latest on 73096 with the Cylinder and possibility in returning to traffic soon?

73096 is complete Disassembly !! Not the other way round.
I understand that it is to have boiler work done and new tyres fitted (done along side 73082)eg an Intermediate overhaul as I know there are some foundation ring rivets that need seeing too and other items.(I beleve this was to have been done around now anyway)
She was getting a bit long in the tooth so its a positive thing that she is to have this work done and will give the MHR and its Owner an overhauled loco with lots more miles in it.
Things need to be checked over following what happened anyway.

She was on time at Bentley and attracted a lot of attention from people getting off the stopper she waited to pass in the station. I will try and get the pictures on tommorrow.

    Nice shots at Ropley.

Here are a few from the pathing stop at Bentley last night.
Although the first shot is a bit grainy I was quite impressed it came out seeing as I didn't use a tripod or flash and the distance between me and 35028 was quite far. Anyway it was very atmospheric as her exhaust smoke swirled around the station whilst she waited for the electric train to pass.

Lord Nelson was 'on shed' yesterday with 34007, 92212 and 60019 (the latter two in light steam, presumably preparing for running the saturday service?).

I made a last minute blast down to Ropley from Swindon yesterday afternoon to see clan Line. Just went down with the intention of getting some photos of the symbolic occasion of 35028 on the MHR - and I really can't thank the volunteers of the MHR and the MNLPS who were only too happy to help and advise. Photography was very difficult because the low sun was right up the loco's backside, but managed to get something of a record nonetheless.
