Water at Conington

Does anybody know if it's possible to see or photograph the Duchess while taking on water at Conington.

In the times above there is no stop at Nottingham on the outward leg. Is this correct or just missing?

 

The schedule shows PASS 08+17 for Nottingham. This may be an error.

 

Hoping to photograph this train, however I do not know this line at all.

Can anyone reccomend a spot between Stevenage and London which maybe a good place to photograph this train?

A station maybe? An overbridge? Are any station no-go areas due to 'over enthusiastic' security guards?

North Welwyn is popular spot. Especially the viaduct there.

 

Harringay Station is popular. On a curve and usually fast running.

 

when is the duchess moving from butterley. i know that the whole erewash valley line is shut for resignalling work this weekend. so cannat move on saturday am. so i presume the move is today? cdan anyone confirm this? and the timings if possible?

24 late Bingham

 

A bit late posting the info but 20 late into Connington Loop for water but away on time. Saw her near Biggleswade going quite well on the up slow. Was booked main line I believe but a late running electric hauled special - Class 86/7s - was up her tail so turned slow road so the cans could over take. "Young" Bill looking well happy on the footplate.

 

how is the duchess turned today. the usual triangle route via north London line is severed during the engineering works going at Canonbury. would it go to stratford or greenford? cheers

 

AFAIK the North London Line is closed on Sundays for Engineering works. So I presume it could have proceeded to Stratford Via this route, I may of course be wrong. This is annoying as If I had known it was using the North London Line I could have walked from my place of work and watched it go by!!

It did have the up fast south of Welwyn Tunnels and Viaduct. Passed Welham Green, south of Hatfield at 11.28 going like the clappers, 13 minutes after the 86/7 hauled special.

When are PRCT going to get some LMR style headlamps for this loco, LNER ones don't suit her at all!

 

Seen through Welwyn North this morning, going well.

Wha a pity this is her last trip, lets hope not....

 

When it comes to looking 'odd', headlamps are the least of 6233's problems!
