I am considering going to this event to mark the end of 9682's boiler ticket at the often forgotten Chinnor & Princes Risborough Railway. I'm sure there's someone around these pages who works there. Are you able to divulge exactly what should be taking place and perhaps just generally promote the event?

    Cheers,

    Paul

Any idea of what the C&PRR are going to replace 9682 with and when?

Well, I went along today and had a decent enough time and what is a very small outfit. The 31 failed and the 37 was not even on the board as running so perhaps that failed prior to the event. I went with the intention of photographing proceedings and found that a bit of a challenge.
I got the impression it was a good day for the railway with trains running reasonably well filled.
A nice little railway and hopefully they will get there extension into Princes Risborough which will make it easier for people to reach.

My photos of the day can be seen on my fotopic site.

    Regards,

    Paul

Nice, glad to hear its a exGWR engine for a typical GWR branch. Any idea of when 9682 may return?

Ideal loco for the line. It's been to Chinnor before IIRC.

GWR 9682 should be back at chinnor during this year as we have had to carry out major repairs to the boiler , as a new front tube plate was not intended was was required along with new smokbox . the final stages of the boiler repair is currently in hand and all being well should be hydraulic tested at end of FEB 2012
