Just looked at the timetable for this event, looks like a steam gala timetable!

    They're even running the freight.

Does anyone know if loco diagrams are available? Also any hints on what way the locos are facing at the moment?

The intensive timetable is because the event is usually busier than Galas - although the Gala Sunday back in May did slightly beat last year's Wartime Saturday to be the best day ever (yet!)

The Goods train is used as part of one of the Wartime scenarios - complete with pyrotechnics!

Locomotives are not diagramed in the same way as for steam galas and are employed more like a normal day - in other words, as available.

At the moment, all locos face south except 45212, which faces north.

It looks as though there will be four locos out on Friday, six on saturday and five on Sunday. Can't tell you which locos ('cos I don't know) but they will be pooled from 825, 30926, 45212, 49395, 53809, 60007, 63395 & 76079.

As the new NYMR website still has under "locomotives operating today" the rota for 5th. Oct. has anyone any idea of the scheduled locomotive line up for this event, please.

Thanks for all the info chaps. I made the long trip yesterday, but it was well worth it even if I am feeling slightly tired today!

    Great pics, Matt!

What were the pyrotechnics, with the goods train, like? Sounds fun! Bit of subtle theatre-craft?

The SVR have (or at least, used to have) a very convincing 'wagon on fire' at Wartime events. Clever! Intrigued how its done though...

Thanks for the comments. Unfortunately I didn't see any of the "action" it was a case of wanting to be in 3 places at once. However, I understands if you're into "WOL" then the NYMR do it very well indeed.
