The fire was lit Monday lunchtime/afternoon and the FTR was carried out once sufficient pressure was raised, all preparation work, oiling up etc etc was carried out before departure, and the support crew travelled down from Tyseley to do this. 4953 and 5029 made it Tyseley with no problems noted.

Not sure where your info came from, but there was definately no-one from tyseley support crew with either of these loco's............. preperation work was carried out by both of the owning groups people.
As to the ftr, who ever said it has to be done monday afternoon, as long as it has passed an ftr and the toc control has a copy of the cert signed by a competent examiner in time to process it before departure time, theres no problem..

603, Im a member of the Pitchford Hall group and I definetely know our engineer/support team were there on Monday to do the preparation works and yes we did travel from Tyseley which is where we and the locomotives are based.

But thankyou for explaining to me more about the procedures regarding FTR.

    Kind Regards

Thanks for clearing this up, But i did definately say that your own people were there and not tyseley support crew...

The ftr explanation was more for Mr clever who thought he was having a dig about how quick he thought the engines were going to be steamed up!

    Try this web address.....http://www.4953pitchfordhall.com/
I'm not a member of the Pitchford Hall Group, but I feel certain that you will be welcomed with open arms.
No loco can have too many helpers.
And I will pass on your message to the 4953 support crew when I see them tomorrow morning. So expect a PM in the very near future.
