Delayed from earlier in the year due to the fabricator finding there was more work involved than originally anticipated.

Will look rather nice when painted up. Gives much easier access from Highley platform for those going to the Engine House.

Looks alright that dont it! I dont know why but I was thinking a slightly modern'er version was being put up, ie with no side lattice on main platform. Looks good and old.

It may well be that the grey colour is its final colour, so hopefully once complete and no doubt "inspected and signed off" by someone, it should be ready to go at half-term.
At present Highley platform does get crowded with passengers waiting for the train to depart and clear the foot crossing before they cross to go to the Engine House, so this footbridge will be a useful addition to the Highley scene. I'm sure I have seen some images that show it looks very similar to what was there before.

SVR News website says it's open from 24/10 but will be taken out of use again in November (after daily running for half term) for a short while to finish a few bits.

Apparently it was "tested" today by 100 people looking at the official opening ceremony for The Engine House

Also, this year it will see use as there are pre-Christmas diesel trains (not Santas) from Bridgnorth - Highley, while the Kidder-Arley Steam Santa service is running. http://www.svr.co.uk/downloads/svr_spec_santaspecial.pdf. I don't recall this service before?

I dont think this service has run before, but I think the idea is to maximise line use until Hampton Loade can be reinstated as a passing place.

Also provided the maximum service to the Engine House, which has been a popular feature of Severn Valley passenger flow this year.

It's also a useful way of utilising the DMU which operates a staff strain Kidder to Arley for the Santa staff early in the day before returning at the end of the operation. Taking it North to run Bridgnorth to Highley for those people not wanting to be saddled with screaming kids seems like an excellent idea to me.

Looks as though the new footbridge got its "load test" !!

As Nick Ralls said, "much needed".

Half -term will no doubt see it well "run-in".

    Excellent facility.
