Notice on the website confirming the N2's appearance at the gala! KWVR seem to do very well to get visiting engines in with Leander, O2 and Oliver Cromwell this year!

Well that's great, I'll look forward to that, hope it snows.

Now I wonder if they can get "Morayshire" some time. :-k

    ...

Unfortunatly Morayshire is too heavy for the branch, 70013 just snook in but it had a 20mph speed restriction applied to it.

Yet again its planning time for me and a few others.
Anyone with some sensible ideas of what you'd like us to do etc or see drop me a message on here and ill try to check regularly or email me by the icon thats somewhere too.

Also im planning on doing another gala souvenir booklet similar to June's very! popular and well recieved one.

Is there likely to be any other visiting locos? (not that there's anything wrong with the N2!)

Generally format has been excellent in recent years. A couple of runs with the WD on a full line long freight will get me into the car for the long journey from Bath. Any chance of not cleaning it from now until the gala?

It might be helpful to include a link to the relevant page of KWVR website, add the event to the Nat.Pres calendar, or even mention the dates in this thread ;-) Ta.

given that one engine is visiting from the GCR they are hardly likely to release two ?

78019 also went to Embsay this Autumn and in the nicest sense didn't really float people boats and given that the KWVR also have 78022 albeit out of ticket it's not ringing the changes

whilst not one for the purists 8624 ? or since the N2 is returning to it's old home , how about Bellerophon

Excellent. Full circle for the N2 as she was a WVR regular in the early days.

78019 seems to have done just about everything lately, it won't continue to attract crowds when everyone's seen it so many times before!

I like the Bellerophon idea though ;-)

In the absence of a Quadart rake in deepest Yorkshire, I presume the N2 will work some of your vintage stock. Would be a nice pre grouping combo.

78xxx moguls do float my boat - memories of the 465xx similar locos on Mid Wales line. Looking forward to 78022 coming back to the roster at Keighley.

they dont normally have vintage trains at the winter gala, due to something to do with heating i think.

That's a shame. Obviously today's gricers are wimps. :) For cold rail travel they should try it in a Polish winter when the steam heat cock on the Kriegslok has broken. It was an interesting journey to say the least.

Now that would be nice to get the 8F, pair it with the WD perhaps?

Super 'D' would do nice for me, on the other hand maybe the flying pig from SVR.

    Nice to have the N2.

hmm, Duke dog anyone? Could be expensive as it is long way to come.

One visitor is fine with me but can we have plenty of single headed runs?
I'd also like a pick-up goods but not too early (So that I can get there to see it; so not first thing then!).
Oh yes, and don't break the visitor 'til last thing Sunday…
    :)

4F as a guest? Might be a novel idea having a Midland engine on a Midland branch.

No red engines especially with the WD!

An early freight please - light is at its best and doesn't get in the way of passengers - and allows a few journeys on the train. If I can get there in time I am sure others can - only have four pints the night before!
