Filmed on the last day with 6 departures for the year, we start with tour of Boston Lodge Sheds, before chasing the action around the line and then finally finishing up at Porthmadog station with the last train of the day.

Just upload the final part to this 3 part film covering footage from the 10th of September.

Hi Pennysteam, saw the vid of 'Merddin Emerys' & 'Taliesin' on the WHRProject site, & two questions, They had to wait until 11.00 to cross the Cambrian, now I understand about train timing & surly they'll work out a TT that allows for minimal delay when they are up & running every day?
Also why do the Garretts have to be double headed? especially with a diesel? Dont you think that for the average non railway punter, Mum & Dad & two kids, It dos'nt look good? Dad's going to be bending down telling kids ' look that big steam engine's got to be pulled by that diesel'!
This is not critisism of the WH, just observation.

Hope you dont mind if i have a stab at them?

As far as im aware, until the NR crossing has its signalling installed trains need a track possession to cross, so any stock movements need to leave the FR without affecting services there, then wait till there are no trains in the Port-Harlech section before crossing.

Secondly, i believe VoF was helping because of the conditions - the long sections of 1 in 40 through heavily forested areas, when combined with damp weather, can cause quite lengthy delays. Hopefully with the lineside vegetation work this winter it wont be so bad in future.

Maybe future WHR discussions would be better put in the 'General WHR Discussion' topic? This topic is about the Ffestiniog.

Dunno why it's locked - the person who was causing all the problems has been banished.

    Hi,

Sorry for the delay in response, not spotted you original response, saying that I have no Idea to your questions as while I try to make Ffestiniog and WHR several times a year, they are not on my doorstep, which they were as its a 4 hour drive each way, making a long day. On the 10th I set of around 4.30am and got back after a days filming around midnight, and then was back up at 7am to go to work.
