No need for buckeye couplers - FL wagons ony have screw couplings. They had buckeyes fitted when on test with GE and were seen aattached to USA gauge locos.

    Cheers, Neil

He's quite right. I saw 70.002 hauling a couple of Freightliner hoppers around Stoke Gifford Yard, Bristol, this afternoon. The class 70 is definitely not the most attractive loco to grace our rail system but at least it sounds better that a yinging class 66. <BJ>

    They are already "Ugly Betties"

Why would anyone with an eye to his company's reputation impose a piece of pr rubbish like this on the railway scene?

Appearance can still say a lot about your company - so what do these say??

The last best design dates from the early seventies and still looks good today - the HST - especially with a Valenta at full throttle.

It was quite evocative in October 08 sailing up the Clyde on the QE2 with HMS Manchester whistling along beside us

I wonder what diesel gala will get one first, I should think a few modernist railway enthusiasts have this as required haulage
