Could anyone tell me where Newton Junction is exactly?
Twixt Bescot & Perry Bar by the timings..

    Bescot DUGL 12.40 - 13.30
    Newton Jc 13.35 - 13.50
    Perrybar W Jc 14.03

But it is the exact location that's got me!
Here I am hoping that there's 3 photo opportunities in a short space.

Newton Jc is at the Tame Bridge end of Bescot Yard, where the goods lines merge into the main running lines.

i am so excited about this tour, 2 pannier tanks on the mainline to ironbridge, then a run to kidderminster and then to bridgenorth and then a spectacular run home to tyseley via old hill. those engines will be working hard pulling a load of 12(not sure it thats true). im hoping to take some videos of this tour. any one got any ideas of good locations?

Which ways will the panniers facing? I am hoping to see them at Cosford at 9.31 so I was wondering whether they will be smokebox first out of Bescot and through Cosford?

My understanding is BUNKER FIRST to Ironbridge, CHIMNEY FIRST to Kidderminster and CHIMNEY FIRST back to Brum after a spin on Kiddy Turntable.

Why not chimney-to-chimney? That would mean better visibility for the leading driver as he would then be on the left-hand side (i.e. same side as most signals) and wouldn't have the boiler, panniers, chimney or drifting smoke obscuring vision.

Good idea! That would have avoided the need for passengers to detrain at Kidderminster (mainline) and walk across to the SVR station.

.....but probably not without a lot of clipping of facing points/crossovers etc which may not be feasible with the frequency of service trains - or are all the points already fitted with locks ? Indeed has any charter service ever carried passengers directly onto the SVR in the past ? Of course, there is no problem for trains leaving the SVR and heading north.

Does anybody know the loadings for tomorrow? As the trip is sold out, there would normally be 10 on, but thats seems a bit much for two panniers.

Train will be load 10, strengthened from 8 due to the demand for tickets. This will also include the Pullman dining cars.
