1Z82 Bittern passes Basingstoke 1145 heading for Bristol

 

After first having a look along the embankment stretch leading up to Winchfield and finding insufficient gaps in the foliage and men in orange jackets along the line I headed for the station only to find swarms of men in orange jackets! So it was on to Potbridge where there was already quite a turn out. Frustratingly for the gathered photographers she was on the slow line and was eased off as she came along. Still pleased with the results though.

 

On time going through Pirbright.

 

I think it was about 25 mins late on the way from Bath to Bristol. Will post some pictures later.

Nice pictures but it is 2009 not 2008! Oh and a Commando, not a Sea King - fixed undercarriage. Thanks for posting.

 

I will check the date details, I thought I had sorted that out. Thanks for correcting the helicopter information. There wasn't much daylight between the underside and the tree tops.

I saw the loco at Dilton Marsh (no video) and it was certainly having a good run at the bank. Sounded excellent. About 10 late at that point.

 

Its all uphill to Scotland

Plenty of steam blowing off as it passed through Westbury for Upton Scudamore

Had made up all that lost time and was spot on at Clapham Junction then London Victoria tonight, a couple of pictures from each...
