I took two side-by-side photos at Reddish MPD back in late 1981. I have just merged them together using Canon Photostitch. Unfortunately, you can see the join. The rails don't quite line up. The only way to do this is to actually move a few paces to one side, I guess. Still, I think it turned out not too bad.

    However, the content is interesting:

    2x Class 40, 1x Class 45 or 46, 3 Class 506, 3x Class 76, 2x Class 76 grounded bodies and 82 001.

I guess it's a case of you can see the join because you know whre it is.

    Looks pretty good to me.

I forgot that I had done this one some months ago. I've only just uploaded it. It's is a scanned colour slide of Red Bank Carriage Sidings, Manchester in April 1978. Again, you can see the join at the track. It looks like I should have levelled the right picture a bit before stitching, the right side looks to be sloping ever so slightly upwards to the right.

The grounded carriage bodies are interesting. As well as old Mk1s ther are a couple of old LMS types. As I recall, the old ones were scrapped not long afterwards. The whole scene has now gone. No tracks, all undergrowth. Sad........
