Had a great day out behind the Princess yesterday, and full marks to RYTC - especially Santas little helpers !! (for those who havent travelled on one of their festive tours I mean the lovely young ladies in their xmas outfits)
I think it was Albert Seymour? in charge on the outward leg - we'd have been nearly 30mins early into York if we hadn't been held no doubt waiting for a platform - and Bill Andrew on the return.
Hope to post some onboard action later.

    I don't know why I bother!

Apart from the lousy light which seems to have plagued just about everyone, it also looks like she's shut off there, John. Must have been near one of the several locations on this line where there were 35mph speed restrictions placed on 46201 in the vicinity of bridges and platforms.

I well and truly got caught out by that too! What made it far worse for me was the fact that I had actually discovered a brand-new master position, one high upon a hill and where no photter appears to have ventured before ... I now know why!

And then .... what really pi**ed me off most of all, was the total lack of light anywhere, until 60 seconds after the train had passed ... immediately to be followed by the sight of the group waiting in the field approaching Calderbrook, visibly creaming-off the mega-glint shots at the very moment that the clouds parted! The b*gg*r even opened up specially for them ... or so it seemed! (I hope that new warehouse behind the train positively gleamed for them!!!)

As a footnote, this must have been just about the first time that an LMS pacific has passed this way in recent times. Anyone know different?

Mr.Seymour at the front was his usual genial self at Brighouse. Lots of children wanted to "have a look" and Albert was answering their questions.
    Well done that man.=D>

That's a great shot, especially given the weather conditions. Was a red filter used? Even the tree branches look maroon!

I've seen a version of what I believe is the location talked about above . It's on a yahoo group of which i'm a member hence why I can't post a link nor post the image on here

The warehouse is shadowed by the exhaust and the engine glinting beautifully . Cracking shot really and one to put down to experience rather than begrudging someone else's fortune . At least you had the courage to go out in uninspiring conditions and see it

Just viewed the image and it is nice indeed. The photographers who were there, got the luck they deserved. Right place, right time and all that. (I bet those same photographers could you tell you the countless times they got sod all).
