Sussex Belle 22nd December

Havn't had my tickets yet but should be a nice pre-Christmas trip around Kent. Sociable start and finish times with a fairly good route. Looking forward to it!

Having managed to miss Tornado twice yesterday, I'm determined to see Tangmere today.

Pulling out from the Lenham loop could be interesting if its still icy

 

went through borough green and wrotham on time

 

Just got a text from my Dad saying they're making good time, no idea where they are though!

Think he might of said Romney Marsh actually.....

 

Picture from earlier today, just south of Lenham. I could hear a little bit of a slip as Tangmere came out of the loop.

34067 strolled through wandsworth road a few minutes early at 1602

 

34067 absolutely stormed through Crowhurst Station earlier and the sound of her storming up the gradient was superb.

Makes me wish I went to Wadhurst for some fantastic shots right beside Wadhurst park!!!

 

Nice little pre-Christmas trip today behind 34067. Not too fast but some nice running between Bromley and Ashford and between Hastings and Tonbridge. It works quite well as a trip for a winters day as you don't have to get off the train and spend a cold afternoon in one place. Thanks to all involved with running it.

A couple of pictures from the end of the day..light had already gone.

I saw a bunch of people waiting with video camera's at Denmark Hill, but Tornado had already gone past, and 34067 was coming via Brixton, did I miss something else ?

 

Not steam wise I don't think...

Here is my offer from today, really had surprising speed up rivalling what Tornado was doing about a mile before at Barming station last night, seen just after shutting off steam and you here the safety valves lift for Maidstone East restrictions.
