Was there any sign of 43106 today?

 

There are some images of 43106 on Santa duty at Arley on Phil Sharpe's site ( "sharpos-world") from the 19th.

Yes, 43106 was on the delayed 1015 from Kidderminster yesterday (19th). It was leaking quite a bit of steam as it worked off Victoria Bridge! http://richard5490.fotopic.net/p62580305.html

 

Perhaps the nearside draincocks were sticking. I was at Bewdley when the engine was on the return service and it wasn't leaking then. Super photo though!

In reply to the origional post, 2968 was well festooned with tinsel on Christmas eve, not sure what the photographers thought of it, but the fireman did appear to get all five fingers waved at him when we went past!

 

During the December run-in to Christmas, some 35,000 passengers travelled on the railway's 'Santa Special' steam trains, 'Santa Herald' diesel trains, Christmas dining trains and Christmas carol trains. Now, if just 7,000 people ride on the railway's post-Christmas 'Festive Season' trains which run from Boxing Day until January 3rd it will break through the 250,000 passenger landmark, which has only previously been achieved once before - in 2005 - when just over 252,000 people travelled on the line.

The railway is running to a revised timetable during the December 26th - January 3rd period because of engineering repairs at Hampton Loade - but there are still six steam-hauled trains in each direction each day, and seven, with the inclusion of a Kidderminster - Highley 'extra' (for 'The Engine House' visitor centre) on December 27th, December 31st and January 3rd. On all days, the first train from Bridgnorth goes at 10.13am, and from Kidderminster at 10.25am. Loco roster:

Weekend train services recommence on January 9 2010. Due to engineering work at Hampton Loade a revised timetable will be in operation and trains will travel between Kidderminster & Highley only.

A special timetable operates during the half term holiday - February 15-19 and a special timetable, with additional trains, operates on February 20 - classic transport day.

Normal train services, over the full length of the line, resume from the beginning of March 2010.

Me, wife and Border Collie Sally will be travelling on 2 January - But I guess that Sally will not count in the numbers!

 

Can anyone confirm what way the pig faces?
Also does anyone know if the teaks are in service (that's not a request!).

 

43106 was facing north on the 20th, not sure if that's much help though!
