Anyone know where their up to ? Looks like i got home just in time, snowing like mad here!

 

Radio 5 reports the A6 closed between Shap and Kendal now.

Lets hope our other intrepid members are also out of that area, and that the two Black 5's have made it back South ok.

 

The charter was about 15 mins down when it passed through Armathwaite.

 

Must agree with the others, nice one Matt and thanks for going to the trouble of travelling up there. I didn't manage to get out due to family stuff.. :tape:
No snow here but I didn't expect it really, we are not high enough up and too much sky round here Matt :wink:

Saw them on the return through Appleby about 10 down where we had a bit of sleet/rain; but it was snowing quite heavily on the road back to Tebay / blowing off the fields. Will be interesting to see whether anyone actually got to Birkett Common!! Anyway, looked a cracking run and all credit to IR and his team, and of course not forgetting the crews -- if its Frank's last I'm sure he will have gone out in style.

Just had word from on board, train has been diverted via Wigan. Missed a path at Clitheroe, late at Blackburn, currently dashing down WCML !!

 

Scout Green has to be one of THE iconic locations for rail photography in the UK.

I was stumped today. I thought a trip to Ribblehead was a good idea, snow, back lit you know the picture you never get. I parked up the car, walked for 20 mins and got a test shot and all looked good, see this http://adriansphotos.fotopic.net/p62717899.html . Less than 5 mins before arrival, I was a lone figure/idiot stood in a blizzard. The shot that was now became the shot that never was http://adriansphotos.fotopic.net/p62717900.html !! On the way back to the car in ankle to shin deep snow, I stood in a snow covered stream and went up to my knee in very cold water.

Not deterred I stopped of at Hellifield for a closer and clearer look of the superb locos http://adriansphotos.fotopic.net/p62717901.html
