Oh boy, so you can vote for more than one, well I would've voted for 45407 and 34067 as well as 09, wouldn't have made any difference, 45407 has been a stalwart, coupled with 76079 they rescued a few railtours from being diesel hauled not too long ago, loved the 'Riley 1 International Rescue' headboard. surprised 09 never got more votes, they're the only streamliners we've got, the A4's that is.

I voted 6233 (though I haven't had the fortune of having a ride behind her) but if i'd known that I could've voted for more then 6201 would also get a vote (especially the run I was on when she flew over the Devon Banks in 2002). I'm actually quite surprised Lizzie hasn't got more votes actually.

I'd say 34067 Tangmere for its amazing runs on the Great Britain, and 6223 Duchess of Sutherland after her record breaking run!

well my vote goes to 35028 for hauling the heaviest steam hauled train in the uk month in and out, with very few absentices and to tangmere, for giving us in the south the chance to see and experience what it would have like back in the 60's when these were the mainstay of express in the south and it has ran week in week out to all parts of the uk, quite a feat when you think how hard it is to get an engine at short notice that will fit most anywhere

For me it has to be Clan Line, too. Besides all the excellent reasons already mentioned above, I've been in love with this loco since I saw her on (I think) her last British Railways run to Bournemouth in 1967. I'll never forget the way she lifted 13 coaches & a dormant 66 up Parkstone Bank from a standing start at Poole in July 2007.

Runners up? 34067 and 73096 (sadly missed from the main line).

The locos that really bring a lump to my throat, though, on the all-too-rare occassions when they venture out onto the mainline, are 850 and 777. I'm looking forward to seeing 777 & Tangmere in Devon and Cornwall in April!

Well I voted for 6233, 6201 & 45407 but I would of liked to of voted for 4965 & 5690 - 4965 for it's consistant performance and outstanding condition and 5690 for the shap and in particular the solo performance on the lickey. In fact 5690 would get my vote for that alone (although I am sure others will disagree that is my personal opinion!!!)http://railways.national-preservation.com/editpost.php?do=editpost&p=326636
