    This has gone very quiet

    Whilst passing through Crewe before Christmas I noted that the cladding had been removed

    I was advised at Bury by one of the Marquess support crew, last week, that the boiler is to be lifted this month and that full overhaul is authorised.

    All we need now is 532 sorting

    Confirmed by Mr Cameron in the latest Steam Railway magazine - a full 10-year overhaul, with an outside chance of being back some time in 2011 (as with all dates it comes with the usual caveats).

    Very, very good news this and I think we all owe Mr Cameron a great deal of thanks for giving 60009 another 10 years. I don't think many of us would've been suprised if 60009 had been given retirement, with 61994 being a runner and the fact their owner isn't any younger, but ultimately he's an enthusiast and thankfully (for us!) his heart has perhaps ruled his head on this one! Roll on 2011...
