Fair point, it rattles on, but it makes the steam, and sits at the back of the shed for when everything goes down the pan.

'Statfold' or 'Jack Lane' of course should be new build contendors, purely because they are brand new Quarry Hunslets. Statfold Barn I guess must be the loco fleet of the decade purely because of the amount of stuff they've accumulated in a decade.

Really when you look at it I suppose the Welsh Highland Railway must be the preserved railway of the decade, they've done what every preserved railway has failed to do lay a long railway in a short amount of time.
Gelert only runs 7 days a week during the holiday period though. The rest of the time it's in the shed waiting for the weekend.

Britomart would do that with the regulator shut ;-).

Very true. I guess a lot of this is we don't always hear about the merits of other deserving locomotives elsewhere

from the F &WHR which I'm more aware of I'd stay with Upnor for reasons mentioned earlier

As for Garratts different ones had their own merits as mentioned in the thread.

    Regards

    Duncan
