Well we all knew that you can buy some real rubbish on e-bay, but this just goes to prove it.

A novel way of fund raising for the Bluebell Railway.

great idea, now what else is there kicking about on the bluebelle that they can put on Ebay, stepneys old boiler tubes, old non repairable boiler , ex BR freight loco, low mileage 3 former owners, 2 carefull, 1 not so careful (woodhams) but on a serious note things like sections of stepneys old boiler tube with a certificate might be a novel way to get additional funds

It is a good idea but may not be quite worded right somehow.

It confused me a little bit haha. It seemed to be almost a bit sarcastic as I read it until the end.

Well what the pay with Paypal payments and if there are any bids - I can see there being a loss. Not sure what is wrong with the current method on the Bluebell website??

It might catch people not familiar with the cause , people searching Rubbish bin for example may stumble across it.

I don't think paypal charge but mission fish (who do it for ebay) take around 5%. Its a novel way that has raised over £35 which might not of reached the cause if not done. For large donations then gift aid etc should be done via the BB website but this is only 99p.

I'll also add that listing is free

Unfortunately not. eBay waive the listing and final value fees though, so we're still making a decent amount from this which we wouldn't otherwise.

Interesting idea. As was said before it isn't worded too clearly. I showed it to my mum, who knows nothing about the project and she didn't understand the auction at all.
