The station does have barriers, however they're only operated at peak times and a platform ticket only costs 10p, so its worth it perhaps on a good day.

Thanks. I haven't been there for three or four years & it was still unbarriered then.

Through Tilehurst 20:15, well early, can only assume the Didcot stop was cut out.

Interesting to see that the support coach is a Mark 2 rather than the previous Mark 1. Any ideas as to why its been changed?

The think the 5305LA has two support coaches. A Mark 1 and this Mark 2, E14099, which has just come out of the works at Rothley on the Great Central. I believe this was it's inaugural mail line run after repairs.

70013 and 30777 had previously used 17019 which was City of Wells support coach, although it has been used with several other locos since 34092 left the mainline, including 45596, 60532, 45407, 6201...

The 5305la website says she's undergoing a routine axlebox exam.

with grateful thanks to some photographers at the far end of my platform who waved to indicate the points had been set for the slow loop line just giving me time to leg it down the platform and over the bridge. Thanks gents.
