Chris is a hugely respected member of the Mid-Hants Railway. He is not the troll here, as Swan Age said.

Really? I make a generally positive comment about the website and it is taken the wrong way.

Let me clarify then. I happen to be very experienced in the art of web design, so I think it's a bit cheesy, and maybe not quite as I would have tackled it, but I'm sure it'll do its job well as long as it is kept updated with relevant information.

But seriously, is no-one allowed to express an opinion around here?

While I may not have agreed with some of the things Tony has said on other threads, I can't see anything wrong with his post here; it was a personal opinion giving his thoughts on the website. These things won't always be to everyone's tastes, so only by taking account of all viewpoints can things truly be considered and improved.

Back to the topic, the latest update does appear a lot better than recently though; hopefully this will continue.

What the hell does a bit cheesy mean anyway? I like cheese a lot so it could be a compliment.....

Or does it mean it's like my feet?

Of course you are entitled to an opinion, it is very welcome. However be careful who you label as trolls, as was pointed out by Ralph, Chris is a well respected member of the MHR.

Interesting to hear that you are experienced in Web Design, what is your opinion of the site as ran previously by Tony Wood?

In my opinion it was very informative, but looked amaturish for an official website, nowadays the front end appears slightly more professional but the new pages it takes you too are still in my opinion a bit basic.

Is that like respect, or fear?

Anyway, I might know a thing or two about websites, and I hate anything that's made with Macromedia Flash. It's cheesy.

It's a technology thing. People generally like the way it looks, but people don't generally understand the way the internet works. They don't realise the implication of Macromedia Flash. Heck, they probably don't even realise it is Macromedia Flash.

As i said in my first reply to you Tony I apologise in advance if I have it wrong.

However as Chessie has said can you please define cheesy as I am not an expert on computers and would value your input on these matters.

    Please enlighten us.

    Regards
    Chris
