Just noticed the following and hadn't seen any mention elsewhere. Also if you scroll down there is a new print being released featuring both 6233 and 6203.

It'll be nice to see a Duchess in LMS Black again. At least Sutherland will be operational and have the liviery painted on both sides. And great news that its been given a boiler extension. Does this mean that another run on Shap will happen cancelling out its supposed last one in October. Maybe they'll let it out of Euston again.

There are some shots in Profile of The Duchesses, David Jenkinson, OPC 1982. 6257 didn't appear until 1948 and from the start was numbered M6257 with BRITISH RAILWAYS on the tender.

I saw a couple of photos of 6233 in black last night. From what I could gather it was rolled out of the shed on Wednesday for only 10 minutes before being tucked away again for the official launch! Very nice it looked too. Should look very nice on a set of maroon coaches (shame they'll be Mk 1s/Mk 2s but hey ho).

Yes it does, but that last run still holds some aspects of 'last' since that for Bill and Frank it was the last..

very clever comment, except that the announcement regarding 6233 being on display this weekend has only just been made.

She looks superb in her new livery, makes me all the more eager to see her over Shap in May.

Can't wait for Shap, 24th April will probably be my first sighting somewhere on the way to Holyhead.
