More progress on Sir Thomas Royden at Rutland, now at a stage to start looking at re fitting all the motion on both sides of the loco. Also cladding has arrived along with the ever neccessary bits and pieces to go with putting her back together! will gets some pics of her as she gets to looking somthing like a steam locomotive again.

    Tim,
SRPS dont have a pattern. I was about to comission a pattern as well, I need one for Respite. I know at least 3 other locos that are after one. I need 2 blastpipes as well-SPRS did start on a pattern for those but there has been no progress on it for ages so I was going to get my own pattern made for those also.

I know that Bo'ness don't have a pattern as they very kindly supplied the drawing. Any more interested parties out there? Come to think of it a blastpipe might not be a bad idea....

If anyone fancies a trip to Sussex theres a mainline industrial running for the next few weeks. The Blubell have turned out ex SECR P tank 178 as Pioneer 2 as it worked at Bowaters paper mill in the 60's. This is only temporary until its full SECR livery can be completed. Listed as running next weekend.

Wouldn't it be nice to see the P in an industrial setting with Jubilee...the Bowaters engines back together again.

Surprised to see the BP at Cheddleton last weekend.

Also pleased that Whiston is staying green and the overhaul is coming along nicely as per latest Foxfield news.

And two galas this year at Foxfield. Great news but bit of a shame for me that the October one clashes with the German gravel Plandampf.

    Cheers,

The boiler for Dubs only needs the tubes beading, it and the boiler for Whiston should both see water in the next two weeks...

I've put together a collection of industrial steam photos taken over the past 5 years which may be of interest. There are 106 pix of 79 locos, arranged by builder and date:

I've tried to make the captions accurate but if anybody spots errors please can they tell me?

    Cheers

Great job AN nice to see some other engines. Regarding Jubilee, heres a pic taken in 2008. I think shes stopped now for an overhaul, anyone know any progress?
The other pic was taken at the weekend at Leatherhead Leisure Centre. Its Hawthorn Leslie 0-6-0st Corby No16. Anyone know how this engine ended up in such an unlikely spot. With building work going on around I hope its not for the melting pot! Would be better at Rutland. Talking of which they have a great photo charter on next week.

She was only returned from overhaul in 2007. I know on most operating days for the last 2 seasons they've preferred to use 54 (the fake Thomas) instead due to its bigger cab etc (useful for railex's). I'll text a mate who still volunteers down there to see what the situation is on her though.

Thanks Chris for putting the record straight. Couldnt remember wether it was Jubilee or the Barclay that was working. As you say they seem to prefer the ex Corby tank as that was in steam. Yes it would make a great pairing with 178/Pioneer the Second. How about at the East Kent Railway if they have some good wagons to use? Otherwise it would have to be Foxfield for a damn good thrashing!

It is expected that the next overhaul to be undertaken at the East Somerset Railway, Cranmore, will be on RSH 7609, sometime known as 'Meteor'. The boiler was delivered to site late last year and we have recently received a new inner firebox that was manufactured by Pridham's. Photo here:
