the lorry with the coal was parked on the path along side platform 1 at the class 47 end of the train, then moved to barnetby to await the train.

with running a bit late and having single line from grimsby town to cleethorpes (and just the loop between town and dock's) you had to wait for the cleethorpes to manchester train to pass you, i guess that's why coal was taken at barnetby as the same would have been on the way back with other train's arriving and departing.

@Dave,no we bailed at Worksop. 19:16 to Sheff and then from there back to Wakey W.

All 6 parts of my vid are now up. (last part of part 6 has the awesome departure of Worksop). (Took 14 hours to upload!!!)

Unfortunately i didn't get any worth uploading on that line, mainly because i was looking at the possibilties of getting of at Worksop.

If people like me to upload so much footage i will happily do so in the future, comments welcome.

Thats were the Loco whould have been if we had reversed at ulcaby as per the original routing.
trying to sevice it were it was whould have requierd the closure of that end of the plaform
just was not safe asthe coal would have had to be lifted over the platform. the only way would
have been for the loco to run round the train. this would requier the 47 to pull the stock
most of the way out of the platform as the crossovers are about a third of the way down the
platform & are facing the wrong way. the stock would requier propeling back in to the platform
so as to be clear of the crossover in front of the 47 so the loco could then back in to the
siding just of the end of the platform (near the end of norfolk lane). this would all have to
be done in reverse after servceing. Even without the MAD womman trying to kill herself under
Ollie there just wasn't the time avalable, so Barnetby was the only option.

The original routing was to Cleethorpes first, not Ulceby! As mentioned, it would have been very time consuming to do the job at Cleethorpes (providing the crossover between Platform 1 & 2 can still be used, if not, would've took even longer), and if they did do it there, it would've been very late leaving Cleethorpes, which may have been a problem getting onto the single line to Grimsby. It really should've had the 2 hours (or more if possible) as originally stated in Cleethorpes, this way the stock could've been taken to Ulceby, down to Brocklesby, and back to Cleethorpes within an hour, with then enough time to get 70013 off and into the siding, coaled/watered up, back on the train and away.

Interestingly, the tour used the Down Goods line between Brocklesby and Barnetby, not normally used by any passenger trains unless the Down Main is blocked for any reason. This was last used by a charter in March 2007 by 4771 "Green Arrow", also unscheduled as it was low on water.

We were told that the problem at Cleethorpes was cars blocking the way. Whether that's true,i don't know, although i do know that the car park is very cramped there.
