Isn't it time they did some real work and caught some cable thieves?

Why should they do that? It's far easier to tell law abiding people off!

according to a couple of 6233 support guys(they were wearing 6233 jumpers) at preston this evening, its leaving preston at just after 3pm sun, they're parked next to the county council offices on the end of a platform. ollie in front, facing north.
also told me the 8f's oiler needed a bit of string into the cab, to be worked manually.

I agree on that one Ralph. It's ridiculous that they tell us to move back and next minute, they're taking pictures themselves off the platform! That's one the reasons why I stopped filming at York, as this often resulted in people that got moved back blocking my shot. Anyway, glad you had a brilliant day. 'Ollie' and 48151 definately treated the load as if there wasn't 14 on! Smashing thrash through Diggle and Hebden Bridge.

That is cracking video Chris, especially on the curves climbing towards Standedge.

    Thanks for posting, Neil.

I was on the train yesterday and it was a great day out ,but on the way home in the car it was announced another serviceman had been killed. So as we were all enjoying ourselves our servicemen and women are dying and being seriously injured so this is that important is it?.

Thanks for the comment, Tango. Yes, I was close to the spot you describe. You need a cloudy day, of course, for a train at that time - plus a sturdy tripod when it's blowing a gale up there, as it was yesterday!

Quite ironic that our lads are dying in a foreign land protecting our freedom while imbeciles with no grasp of the laws they enforce slowly erode that freedom at home.

I'm not sure I've seen so many people on the platforms at Brighouse before .
Graham Magee's son was on the platform getting the donations tin filled up, with money going in from young children right through to the older generation, even from people that had just been passing the station and knew nothing about the railtour.
I have to say that I don't think I've ever had so much satisfaction making a headboard as the ones that were made for this railtour.
    keep the donation flooding in

I posted this on another thread too, but I have found this Network Rail document useful if some jobsworth tells me I'm not allowed to take pics or videos, it makes clear that you are allowed to:

Just to add that Paul Kane was on the shovel of the Brit leaving Carnforth. As nice a guy as you could hope to meet. Looking forward to seeing him in Fort William again this year, just a shame Frank wont be there...
