Lucky today at Narroways Junction. A few minutes delay in departing Bristol for the tour as the crowd peered through the railings watching the exhaust make its way across the city. As the train came into view a freight working appeared behind us rumbling slowly downhill. The departure delay meant we were just able to squeeze in a shot below:

Well what a fantastic day I've had chasing this train.
@Swanny you were very lucky to get that shot, I was at Narroways and I was so glad I went "wrong side" for my video, mind you that bleedin' cage & pallisade is a right pain in the proverbial.

I managed then to scoot around to Huckford for another shot, thanks to the stop at Parkway. Then back up M5 to Ashchurch, arriving a couple of minutes before the due time. However the train was around 40 late passing me. I began to wonder if it had stopped for water at Gloucester and would skip the Spetchley stop. None the less I tought I'd give Vigo/Burcot a go and was rewarded getting there in good time.

@MikeParkin65 I take it all that shouting about 10 minutes before the main event was the gallery near you giving the Numpty some thing to think about!

I will try to get the video on the tube tonight.

A great show, unbelievable weather and darn that Voyager coming down the Lickey at the wrong time :(

My videos of Day 2 of the GB3.

Three steam clips: engines and support coaches approaching the top of Hemerdon, GB3 just past the summit of Hemerdon and also at Westleigh in the evening sun, on the approach to Whiteball.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MhatsMBPyRA

Also 2 clips of D1015 and 47760: just outside Totnes on the start of the climb to Rattery and light engines at Westleigh on the approach to Whiteball. At Westleigh I hadn’t yet connected my external microphone so there is considerable wind noise, I’ve therefore lowered the sound of this clip to reduce the effects of the wind.

Fine video BillR. Yes it was us shouting at the numpty that you heard! To no avail though - he gave us a submissive acknowledgement without turning around.

    Had another great day,today.

Started well and continued that way until Standish Jn where we stopped for a little while, next we had the Lickey, the summit reached at around 20mph.

We got to Bushbury Jn where we lost another chunk of time with a points failure. When we did finally get to Crewe the water pressure was lousy and it took a while to fill the locos, although not much longer than the booked amount of time. We then started to leave but came to a screeching halt after the emergency cord was pulled,we then left, with the brakes dragging for a couple of miles before we stopped and sorted them out.

We were about 96 late at Preston i believe.

My photos from Day 2/3 are now up at:

@BristleGWR Looks like you made the same journey as I, though I must say the cows in your Huxford shots were more polite than the horse in mine :)
    Very nice photos.

Video including shots from the Lickey, Heamies Farm, near Stafford, and Winwick now uploaded. Note that in the shot at Heamies Farm, only two tripod legs were trespassing, I was on the outside of the fence!

I presume that in accordance with WCRC policy the Lickey Flailers were removed from the train at the next stop  - Not the best day for us - Junction 10 on the M6 put paid to the Lickey. Mill Meece was spoiled by a passing Freightliner occupying the up lines, and Daresbury was clouded out - but would have ben in full sun if someone hadn't burnt the soup near Winsford.

Thanks for the relayed info Ralph and Mark - just hope that we manage better tomorrow!
