    Does anyone know if there are any clearance issues for GWR engines at the bottom of Hemerdon resulting in speed restrictions? I believe there have been in the past. With a number of trips scheduled to Plymouth this year, I was wondering if they will all get a run at the bank.

    Can anybody confirm what is happening at Bodmin? I hear rumours of a bus between Parkway and General before the promised ‘round trip’.

    The diesel hauled stock had 9 chocolate and cream coaches in tow. Not sure if support coach will be added at Exeter. <BJ>

    Stormed up past Stoneycombe. Heard it all the way to Dainton Tunnel, sounded like a cracking climb. KE1 looked superb - as per usual! Vid up later

    EDIT. Here is my vid. Sorry about quality - taken on a mobile. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BHrtAx2eBDU I taught my 2 yr old son to say "King Edward" on the way in the car, and what did he say on camera?... Doh!

    Not such a good run on the return unfortunately. It must have have been down to walking speed at one point. <BJ>

    The climb to Whiteball tunnel was rather sluggish. More flange greasers? <BJ>

    From what i seen of the tour, the king seemed in superb form, very nice to see the King back on the mainline again.

    Shots of the tour at the bottom of Dainton (near Aller), St Germans incline, Restormal Caslte and Plymouth now on my site: http://mattcarey.fotopic.net/c1844347.html

    Well done to all

    A collection of photographs I took of 6000 Class 4-6-0 6024 KING EDWARD I hauling "THE ROYAL DUCHY" into Plymouth Station, Devon, on Saturday 1st. May 2010, also some taken of the hauling down through St.Budeaux, Ferry Road and the return leg, have been added to my fotopic site. Link here;

    http://preservedrailwaylocomotivephotosbyrichardsmith.fotopic.net/

    Just like to add that I didn't have problems with bad mannered "fellow" photographers/videoers blocking my view at my local station, St.Budeaux, Ferry Road during the return run, like mentioned in another Thread. See;

    http://railways.national-preservati...ss-1st-May-double-headed-GWR-to-Didcot!/page3

    Because, apart from the feathered bird life and rats, I was the only living thing there waiting for the superb spectacle. LOL.

    But as I was walking homeward bound to my computer, to upload the images from my camera, the locals I passed must have wondered what I had been up to, because I was beaming from ear to ear. But they of course, had not witnessed what I had at my "Local Patch", St.Budeaux, Ferry Road Railway Station.

    Looking forward to KEI on "THE TORBAY EXPRESS" in the summer.

    Best regards to all, SteamHawk216.

    Brilliant day out following the King into Cornwall. Mixed weather but the same great result from a GWR King out on mainline metals.
