Had a bit of time to kill today, so had a look around the local Railway museum, photos taken on phone (sorry!) - interesting museum, well worth a look when you are passing!!
Loco is a General Motors CNR class Y-4-b. 3'6" Gauge.

Thanks for sharing , nice shots of Canadian 3' 6" gauge -- but don't think I will be passing any time soon - the wrong side of the country , like 3000 miles away !

I'm glad something has been saved from the closure in 1988 of the remaining system. I managed a trip on the central part of the line just before closure, and it was a fascinating system. But too far away for a special journey for most people.

I believe that many of the locos were sent, after closure, to various places like Nicaragua and Chile for further use, and wonder if they are still working in their new duties?

Thats quite a claim to railway fame, I don't suppose that there are too many people (esp on the east side of the pond) that can claim the 'Newfie Bullet' route!

Just wish I'd got there before 1969 when there was still a Newfie Bullet right through from St Johns to Port au Basques for the boat to New Sydney. And all those branches with a mixed train once or twice a week - really atmospheric place.
