Just seen this on UKsteam info site: Tue 18-May 46233: Southall-Oxford-Tyseley-Crewe updated (09/05) E+ECS

This looks like a good chance to see the Black Duchess in the South of the country. Does anyone know what stock she will be hauling?

It may just be 6233 and support coach for the trip over Shap to Carlisle & back on Sat 22nd May.

Since 6233 is a Crewe at the moment and there are no movements down to Southall, running back to Crewe with stock seems rather strange.

6233 will work The Coronation into London on Monday. Maybe the ECS will be some, or all, of the stock off The Coronation.

E+ECS suggests empty stock rather than support coach which is usually E+C, why not if it save WCRC a path and the expense of sending a Diesel and spare driver.

Thanks Malc, yes I have just had confirmation that 6233 will be working the York to London leg of the Coronation on the 17th, so this will be the empty stock coming back from that tour, and as David says saving having to use a diesel except for the last bit from Crewe.

One has to be very careful with timing for this sort of run. Be aware that pathing stops can be extended or missed out completely.

Running over an hour early is not unheard of.

Yes this happened once with 60163 running an hour early on the same route as the 6233 movement.

I'm hoping to get some shots of this movement, too. Hopefully, the bush telegraph will be working overtime.

Prime suspect would probably be 5972 given it had a test run recently, doubt any of the 3 being worked on are anywhere near ready and 48151 would be of limited use from Southall with a 50 limit.

5972 still has a 60mph limit though, what about 46115?

Isn't that at Crewe? And anyway, it hasn't had any test runs yet.
