All that remains of 48518 at the ELR are the frames. No wheels, no cylinders and no pony truck. The cylinders and driving wheels have been salvaged and I believe the pony truck wheelset is being used on the Patriot.

Ah but will John Bunch want to make his piece with the Railway.

I agree that it is better to move on, but move on in this case would be for JB to take his Loco,s and leave.

    Just my opinion

    regards
    Chris

Presumably there is a cost to acquiring these, even if relatively nominal? I'd have thought that simple re-tyring was a better option than having to re-do all the boxes and coupling rod bushes to make them fit, along with the almost certain fettling of the axle journals and crankpins and other work that an ex Barry loco will need. Unless the loco in question also requires the same work, in any case, but as it is running I doubt it.

From what I heard, the loco the drivers are going to is, at present, in the Engine House. There is more to it than re-tyring.
