First of all a big thank you to the guys at St. Phillips Marsh and Laira for their friendly welcome and helpfulness. Also to Blues And Twos who made our work at the water stops so much easier.
I think Mr. Brunel must have had a word with the weather gods because once again the weather was perfect.
Double headed GWR power over the Devon Banks is another tick against things to do before I die.:)
I don't think any of the galleries would have been caught unaware of our approach, the noise was awesome, as David 1984 says the climbs of the banks will live long in the memory.
And as for Plymouth Station between 3.15 and 4.00. It really did seem as if some sort of surreal gala was happening with two steam engines, two first generation diesels and two Royal Train diesels all in at the same time. I kept looking along the platform half expecting to see the usual gala stalls appear.:)
On the way back to Bristol just beyond Bridgewater a helicopter appeared and flew very low alongside us filming, I don't know why, but guys if you're going to lineside you might as well do it with style!!!
As Wallace would say to Grommit ' Ee lad that was a grand day out'.

Finally got my pics up (after sorting out 50 odd and whittling them down to the better ones and doing a bit of tweaking) : http://david1984.fotopic.net/c1850013_1.html

Travelling limits what you can do pic wise but that racket really was worth it, thank to everyone involved from Tyseley & WCRC.

Agreed, that first location with the trees giving an excellent backdrop for the white steam.....

Thanks for your comments. The first location is one of my favorites; the one drawback is that the sun is always on the wrong side for down runs in the morning.
