Hoping to see 60163 at either Crewe or Chester after I've seen the Duchess on the same day.

Don't let any canal person hear you use the term 'Barge', :nono: they are 'Narrow Boats', it's like calling the QE2 a boat....

A barge is a flat-bottomed boat, built mainly for river and canal transport of heavy goods.

A narrowboat or narrow boat is a boat of a distinctive design, made to fit the narrow canals of England and Wales.

In the context of British Inland Waterways, "narrow boat" refers to the original working boats built in the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries for carrying goods on the narrow canals (where locks and bridge holes would have a minimum width of 7 feet (2.1 m)). The term is extended to modern "narrowboats" used for recreation and occasionally as homes, whose design is an interpretation of the old boats for modern purposes and modern materials.

Pedantic enough for you? :peep:

Thats Ansty! It wont be any good coming the other way as it will be on the slow line on the far side. You will be to low down to get a shot! Cathiron lane is about your best bet. If you can get in that is

But it'll be OK going the other way, though the light might not be ideal?

Booked myself on this as a last minute treat. Having recently watched 60019 and 6201 storm Camden Bank from a bridge in Primrose Hill thought I would travel on this one. First trip behind 60163 as well.

Funny enough its not the only racehorse in Chester tomorrow as there is a horse race meeting on as a well.

By the footbridge at Grendon appears to be as good as it gets light wise heading northbound, though not ideal in itself.
