Fire risk v real. If there are fires on the network then a fireban is possible in "at risk" areas. Rain would be v helpful.

Don't you worry matey, things like this are checked during cleaning and again during the FTR. To the best of my knowledge 5029 hasn't set off any fires... Certainly not in recent years.

    Yes please .

Ben , just a few questions for you

Is there any chance as an extra touch of having 2 cornish flags on the front of 5029

Is Barbara accompanying us on this trip

The News of the World wants to know if you and Barbara are an item or just good friends

    Regards Robin

Why go to all the trouble of proper headboard and reporting numbers to then mar it with flags ? (cornish or otherwise)

Solo castles are rare enough on the south devon banks

Can anyone confirm what the stock set will be ?

    many thanks

Suspect the team on 60019 went through the same basic procedures though.
My best wishes for a safe trip.

Nice idea and looks superb... surely as Sidmouth said if your going to go all out with headboard and correct numbers... the flags would really take the egde off it!!

Do you know the reporting numbers? I've seen shots from the steam days of 675 (& relief 849) on the Penzance-Wolverhampton leg.... and it looks like 825 was the Wolverhampton-Penzance leg.

Real shame this tour has been cancelled now.

With recent rain, and a lot more forecast tomorrow, the fire throwing sharp pointy thing could have hauled it after all?

Absolutely gutted about this, thanks greatly to RTC for letting us know promptly with both an email and phone msg off them this afternoon. Lets hope 5029 can be fixed promptly and the tour rearranged quickly.

Letter from RTC arrived today, the new date for this tour is SUNDAY 19TH SEPTEMBER with Nunney Castle. This is to coincide with the pannier trips on the Liskeard to Looe branch. Apparently an attempt was made to rescue the trip the trip last week by hiring 6024, but after initially agreeing the society then decided they couldn't run the trip. This is probably down to the fact they were scheduled to run on the Sunday, putting strain on the support crew. I suggest Mods either re-name the thread or we start a new one!

Excellent News. Although the tour isn't on RTC website tour pages yet you can book through the on-line booking system. I will be hurrying back from a meeting in York on the Saturday for this.
