Due to the top spead of 5mph and its one hard slog all the way up, despite only catching two steam trains going up I managed some how to put together a Film of what turned out to be a long hard days walk for us. I had hoped to go up late in the day but they closed the booking office early, so maybe next time.

Some lovely video and sounds from the much over looked Snowdon railway. Probably the most authenthic steam line in the UK and one of my favourites. Where else can you here engines working like that? I will try to get up there again this year especiually if they still have two engines out on peak days.

Only two available at the moment, but I gather another two will be back shortly.

The path paralelling the railway is tough in places but the views on the last 3rd definetly reward the effort, just a pity as mentioened that 4 & 6 are the only operational Steamers currently, the thrash on the 1 in 5 is something you have to see.

The only railway from which I demanded a refund in 2009!!

Its OK if you are under four foot six, or weigh less than eight stone - but don't be the last to try to take your seat in a compartment if you are anything like normal size and most certainly if you are any larger.

We looked in for our seats and the compartment was already full - the look on the passengers faces was equally horrified - money back time - big time, and no quibbles despite the big No Refunds sign

    Strikes me this happens regularly
