A rather busy day chasing K1 62005 around on the NYMR, managed 9 shots between Pickering and Whitby throughout the day. As a consequence we only managed to capture 'Repton' on the 17:30 out of Whitby at Sleights and D7628 on the 16:30.

Hope everything goes Ok for the NELPG regard the K1 this week and hope to see either the K1 or Black 5 in 3 weeks in Fort Will ;)

I've uploaded 2 video shots from today and the rest will be available on the Part 3: Summer Steam 2010 DVD.

    Now: K1 62005 - where is it?

I travelled from Mallaig to Fort William yesterday (1st June) and had rather expected to see the K1. Instead there were the two Black 5s. I now see that that 62005 is, provisionally, planned to move north on 12th June. Have there been further problems?

Can I ask where you got this information from? The K1's cracked cylinder has been fixed hence the reason why I was able to chase the engine on the NYMR and is as far as i'm aware is still running. As i've already stated the engines are provisionally planned to swap on the 12th June 2010 with 62005 booked for running from Fort William week commencing 21st June 2010.
