It's funny how different people think, my first thought was that Black Watch had been renamed.

Visited. £10 a little toppy. Not advertised but car parking is available at no extra charge.

It must be 18 years ago I last visited and read about the exciting plans to rebuild the roundhouse.....A shame but.

Nice Pics Martin, i presume the No1 boiler outside the shed is off 4936 ?.

Unfortunatly had other commitments this weekend, but hopefully should be seeing Lizzie again in a fortnight or so.

This is more likely to be 7029 'Clun Castles' boiler as this was recently lifted so that an overhaul could begin.

Wasn't 7029, a No1 boiler is the type fitted to Halls 28XX's etc, the Castle type (no4 ?) had a wider diameter.

7029's boiler is on a well wagon by the coaling stage so I think although cannot confirm that it is most likely to be 4936's

I stand corrected as i dont really know the difference between GWR Boilers and i'm more into Midland, Eastern or BR locos. Saying that, as the NNR has had a 56xx visiting every year for the last 4 years i'm quite fond of them.

The boiler out side the front of the shed is Kinlet Hall's.
Yesterday was quite busy and today was fairly busy until about 1.pm when it went very quiet...there must have been something else happening this afternoon.

I bet most people wish they had have stayed rather than wasting 90mins of their lives watching that poor performance.
