Any sign yet of NR timings for Saturday's tour?
I wonder if it will arrive in Swanage around 13:00 and depart around 16:30 - well that's what quite a few recent tours have done.

  2. you wont be getting network rail timings! suggest you contact the swanage they should be able to assist

47580 is doing the honours (with a good run down the the GE) with 804. I am sure outline times will be available shortly.

Anyone got any more details of this train please?

Can't find it on UK steam.info.

I'm sure I've missed something obvious here. Must be the heat, my age or just me being plain stupid.

Strewth. I've just posted on a thread about boxes.

    Please don't tell anyone.

Oh. Sorry, forgot my manners. Thank you for telling me.

Easy mistake to make for somebody who is used to locos whose number begins with a "3", but "47580" is actually a diesel, not an LMS Jinty (I don't think a Jinty would be able to handle the load, even on a region as flat as the Southern).

Well, the SR timetable planners were told to expect NR tour timings late Monday or early Tuesday. I'm not sure they've arrived even yet - so what sort of timetable we will be running around this tour's arrival/departure we'll just have to wait and see I guess!
Be nice to see 47 580 back again.

At least it will not be arriving on a busy bank holiday. However if the weather stays as good as it has been here we will be very busy taking people to the beach!

Today was absolutely lovely (again) but the town was somewhat deserted with hardly anyone on the beach compared with the day before.

Was something else on - other than a very long tennis match apparently at Wimbledon [thought this was an expensive Strawberry wholesale outlet in June]?
