I'm informed by a reliable source it has cost more than £350k to build LYD, which is based around LEW's design after all.

The Trust has an NGG16/13 apparently, this could quite easily cost £350k to overhaul if they chose to do so. I hear a Museum is in their eventual plans, but perhaps createing jobs and overhaulinbg the remaining Rheidol stock is their priority, afterall that is where they make some money.

Why? From everything I've read in the past that has always clearly been the Trust's eventual aim.

  11. whilst it may of been the trusts eventual aim its putting themsleves out and allso making itself more aware to other opople and the list of locomotives that they have is so vast and varied the thought of perhaps getting to see some of them is a good one.

Right as everyone seems to be getting the Facts wrong here is the facts! The Vale of Rheidol has been awarded the Grant to build a Narrow Gauge workshops, running shed and carriage repair shop within the same building once the building is up the priority is going to be No.7 that is top of the list everything else is just going to have to wait!! As for engines I have no idea what is going to be top of the list afterwards! And yet again you don't nees to see the engines to know they are there! They are someone elses property at the end of the day. The plans for aber eventualy will include the works, Station and Museum at this moment we are ONLY doing the Works!
    Hope it helps a bit!

It's used to as a running/carriage shed and has a small workshop attached. It's not really suitable for long term rebuilds. The VofR have been trying to build a new workshop for years so they had somewhere to put No.7 back together, glad to see it's finally happened.
