Thats because the southern loco's are in need of varying amount of tlc to get them back on the main line again

D1015 certainly performed well over Whiteball today. It had a very heavy train to pull. The King didn't appear to be working at all as we couldn't hear it.
Later, when I filmed the train along the sea wall, the King had black smoke belching from the chimney once again. Further signs of a bad batch of coal? <BJ>

Problems in Cornwall. A class 56 railtour on its' return to Birmingham this evening was delayed in Cornwall by a lineside fire ....thankfully nothing to do with the steam locos. At one point the 56s were running 118 mins late. Behind that was a delayed railtour to Gloucester hauled by two class 37s . One of the locos was suffering adhesion problems and was reported to be slipping badly on the Devon banks. Not a good day for railtours in the west country. <BJ>

It's not quite USA, but it is another country
Passengers on the train will have had their passports checked crossing the Royal Albert bridge,
and will have been issued with mini English-Cornish dictionaries,
so they won't be offended when a local refers to them as 'me ansum',
they will understand why everyone stops work when its 'crib' or 'croust' time,
and will be prepared for it to get dark when they're told its getting 'dummity'!

Our contributions from Theale station, just beyond Theale after an unexpected stop, Whiteball (D1015), Aller Junction, Dainton Tunnel and couple of shots just beyond St Germans.

Nice to be seen on video. I am the fat git in blue shorts & white tee shirt with a bald head on Theale station at the very end of the clip on the far right as you panned round. You certainly got around that day!

Yes, good job the car runs on diesel but about 450 mile round trip! I'm only the Chauffer for the boys. Can recommend the Bacon Sandwiches from BK cabin between Whiteball and M5!

Can anyone tell me what station stops there are, if any, from Swindon to Paddington tomorrow? Thanks.

Thanks Shoddy, I'm aware of the site, I use it everyday. I know its route tomorrow. However, to go back to my question, can anyone tell me what stations it's stopping at as opposed to passing through? Thanks.

If I'm reading UKSteam correctly it shows an arrival and departure time at any station where a train stops. If there is just one time shown I believe that is just a passing time. Please correct me if I'm wrong!

Photo of the Cornish Riviera half way up Hemerdon.

I had to take the photo slightly early as an HST was about to pass.

Yes, thanks, that's the way I read it too. I just wanted to double check this one as I knew the down train stopped at Reading, I guess it was only a pathing stop rather than a pick-up point. I asked because I was hoping I might be able to video a station arrival and departure on this journey, but I will settle for a high-speed pass-by :)

i'm tempted to Reading aswel instead of Twyford for a change, cos to hear a double header pulling away from Reading amongst the high rises will be VERY impressive. The GWR engines are clearly best for this, the sound could be worth it. Decision to make......
