Went to shoot 44871 at Burrs, ELR, this morning and, Hey Presto!, she got a name overnight. Shot her yesterday at Ramsbottom and no name then.
The Lancashire Fusilier plates are on the loco.
I guess they are the plates from 45407.

    Today - named

Speaking of 44871 I literally just got a local paper with a picture of it inside from last Saturdays trip from Three Bridges to Bristol and Bath. Wasn't it 44871 that carried the name Sovereign before Ian bought it.

Following the recent tradition for locos working regular holiday services to carry names associated with the area they are working in (e.g. 62005 running as Lord Of The Isles), maybe 44871 should be named Cricieth Castle for the summer? :))

    I'll get my coat....

  7. Theres allready a loco called crichieth castle! and lord of the isles isnt a name that is carried in recent times k1 has had the name for many years and it truely is a superb machine

Was at Rammy on monday and tv cameras were at the station filming for corry - Roy & Haleys wedding - with 44871 pulling some stock - so presume the nameplates were on for this filming - showing in about 6 - 8 weeks according to one of the film crew
