Vulcan XH558 Can you help?

Chichester is a fine city and I'm sure the good people there will delight in the sound of four Olympi.
Waddington times for XH558 are 14:30 Saturday and 14:00 Sunday.

 

Indeed Chichester is a fine city and the 'good people there' complained most vigorously during 1943 about the noise of the Typhoon Mk 11B's Napier Sabre engine noise emenating from Apeldram airfield.

There was a war on you know.

Today I have a friend who spends most of his time manufacturing bolt on additional silencers for cars useing Goodwood, a throw back from the noise complaints when British Racing Motors ran their F1 car there in the 60's.

XH558 arrived at Waddo Saturday at 14.44 did 3 relatively quiet passes and a reasonably noisy 4th departure climb.

Appledram - some good cider is/was produced there.
I suppose it was a bit noisy at times in Chi with the airfields at Appledram, Westhampnett and Tangmere all so close. What I wouldn't give to hear a Napier Sabre in the raw today. My Mum's family came from Chichester but things were much quieter in the 50s, 60s and 70s with Tangmere winding down and eventually closing.
Fairly lengthy display by XH558 on Sunday. All taken quite gently apart from one steep wingover and an ear shattering climb out at the end.
