Mention should also be made of the efforts put in by the Chinnor and Princes Railway, who put on a beer tent, a marquee serving food and drinks and extra toilet facilities at Chinnor.
Thr trip was run to mark the centenary of the London Paddington to Birmingham Snow Hill, via Bicester route, (the 'Bicester' cut-off'), the centenary of Bicester North Station ( a plaque was unveiled during the return journey), as well as Chiltern Railways contribution to GWR 175. As others have said, an excellent trip.

Yes a great run and I think pretty amazing that little in the way of fire was started. The bank from Wainhill up to Chinnor is, I believe, approx 1:50. Pannier with seven on working hard!!
My understanding is that the link will be left in place with the buffers being put back to block the line so some sort of through running may be easier in future.

No I do not currently volunteer
Buffers put in and a length of rail removed beyond them is what was mentioned.

I really hope for the C&PR that the link remains . Bringing in Railtours would surely put the line onto the next level and be a real kudos

Would be interesting to see just how long a train the C&PRR could handle but I'm sure they wouldn't mind even a few more like Saturday's little jaunt.

C&PRR's long term aim is, I believe, to run their regular trains into Princes Risborough station for a cross-platform interchange with Chiltern Trains, in similar fashion to Alton, Keighly, Kidderminster, etc. Hopefully, Saturday's very enjoyable tour brings that goal rather nearer.
