Are there any plans for a diesel/modern traction event at Shildon this year? The previous two were exceptionally good, although I appreciate that the purse strings have tightened somewhat. Aside from any visting traction, it would be nice to see E5001 and NER No 1 outside sometime.

    Hi Garry

Sadly expenditure far outweighed income and after two years thus, the events budget didn't get any bigger, so we decided not to do one at all rather than a poorly organised one with few locos. Folks came and enjoyed it, and so did we, but it cost too much in transport and main line locos didn't come due to the economic situation nationally. Request on E5001 and No.1 duly noted though, thanks!

    Cheers
    Anthony

Having visited York during the 60163 / 4468 display I wondered if perhaps there was enough locos to create Southern Region display using C1 + 34051 + 925 + SUB driving trailer + 737 + E5001 possibly related to the post war pre-nationalisation period
