W24 Calborne in steam

W24 Calborne was in light steam today for the first time since its overhaul

 

She looks amazing in BR black Great job guys (Y)

I don't normally go for BR liveries, but Calborne looks fantastic. Well done to the Havenstreet team and LNWR Heritage for bringing this unique survivor back to life

Absolutely fabulous. Have seen her in Malachite and Olive Green so now for BR black. Can't wait for an opportunity to cross the Solent.

Wow! I've seen so many photos of O2's in BR black, but that just looks fantastic. Cant wait to see her in the flesh.

I could cross the Solent any day this week, should you have any info about whether she's likely to be in light steam any particular day! Would love to take some photos!

 

Calborne is likely to be in steam during the early part of the week for testing, not sure when it will fully enter service though. This is the first time a fully lined BR black O2 has been since the others were scrapped in 1967.

 

Well done, to everyone at Havenstreet. She looks amazing and with my favourite livery too.

 

Pretty little loco, well done to all concerned in bringing her back.

Was there any reason Isle of Wight loco's never carried smokebox numberplates ?.

 

Talking of numberplates, i'd forgotten they ever carried shedplates! - they're virtually invisible on most photos with all the dirt, especially in B&W.

Well done guys the O2 looks stunning in BR lined black. I believe she's booked for some photo charters around September time, so my Dad and I look forward to coming over for them. A grand job! She looks superb in BR Black. I think a visit to the Isle of Wight is in order during my week off at the end of August.
