I am getting a virus alert (McAfee) whenever I try to access the ELR website - anyone else getting the same problem?

No virus alert on my pc when I access the site, but then I don't use McAfee as I'd had problems with it in the past.

My current pc came with Avast installed and I have never had any problems with that at all, even find it better than AVG which I used previously.

I think people on here said they'd had problems with McAfee on a previous thread if I remember correctly.

McAfee is the standard system on our works PCs (not that I am looking at the ELR website when I should be working, oh no!) - but I also use it at home and have accessed the ELR website from both locations erecntly with no problems ...

    Martin.

Might be a McAfee update that's causing it to happen, maybe a PC genius on here (which I'm not) - might be able to throw some light on the subject. Is McAfee telling you what the virus is?

I have the very latest corporate version of McAfee that was loaded only a couple of days ago and I can get into their website fine.

Kaspersky is showing no messages when going to the ELR website. McAfee is known for its fair share of false-positives (claiming something is a Virus or spyware when its not).

We tested this site and didn't find any significant problems.

At least that is what my McAfee scan just stated.

Perhaps it's their way of telling you not to use a work pc to access your leisure interest! :nono::wink:

    Hi all,

Sorry you have experienced a problem accessing the ELR web site. I can assure you that there is no virus/Trojan infection on the site. I have had a few reports like this but they all have turned out to be false positives.

    Regards,
